Taurus: Hard-Working Pistols and Revolvers

Taurus has built revolvers since 1941, starting in Porto Alegre, Brazil. For most of the 1970s it was a sister company to Smith and Wesson before buying itself back. The American operation opened in Miami in 1982 and moved in 2019 to a 200,000 square foot plant in Bainbridge, Georgia, where a growing share of the lineup is now built.

The company tagline is Hard Working Pistols, Revolvers and Rifles. Taurus does not sell heritage or mystique; it sells a working gun with the features shooters actually use, without the premium-brand price tag. For years that pitch came with an asterisk. It does not anymore. The Georgia move, tighter quality control, and a run of genuinely original designs changed the conversation: the Judge in 2006, the Raging Hunter in 2018, the G3 and TX22 in 2019, the GX4 in 2021, and now the 2026 TX9.

The Taurus Lineup We Stock

Carry pistols

  • GX4 - The micro-compact 9mm that put Taurus in the everyday-carry conversation: a 3 in barrel, a flat, snag-free slide, and a trigger far better than you would expect. The GX4 T.O.R.O. adds a slide cut for a red dot.
  • GX4XL and GX4 Carry - Stretched to a 3.7 in barrel with a longer grip, without giving up the slim frame. We stock the GX4 Graphene finish as well.
  • GX2 - The newest entry point to the striker-fired line: 3.38 in barrel, simple manual of arms, T.O.R.O. slide on select versions.
  • G3c and G3X - The compact 3.2 in G3, and the G3X that pairs that short slide with a full-size grip.
  • 22TUC - A pocket-size 22 LR with a 2.5 in tip-up barrel and a double-action trigger.

Full-size and duty pistols

  • G3 - The full-size 4 in workhorse that turned the brand around. The G3 T.O.R.O. adds the optics cut; the G3 Tactical adds a threaded 4.5 in barrel and suppressor-height sights.
  • TX9 - New for 2026 and the first Taurus designed from the ground up as a duty-grade pistol: serialized chassis, optics-ready slide, interchangeable backstraps, ambidextrous controls. Full-size, compact, and sub-compact.
  • TH9, TH10, and TH45 - Hammer-fired DA/SA pistols with a 4.25 in barrel and a decocker, in 9mm, 10mm, or 45 ACP.
  • PT92 - The Beretta-pattern 9mm Taurus has built since the 1980s: frame-mounted safety, 5 in barrel, all-metal and soft-shooting. The 917C and Model 58 complete the metal-frame family.
  • 1911 - A full-size 5 in 45 ACP with the beavertail and skeletonized hammer and trigger most people add afterward.

Rimfire

  • TX22 - The 22 LR pistol instructors recommend by name: a 5.25 in barrel, a light, clean trigger, and reliability most rimfire pistols cannot touch. The TX22 Compact brings it down to 3.6 in.
  • 942, 942M, and 942 Ultra Lite - Small-frame revolvers in 22 LR and 22 WMR, 2 in or 3 in, the right trainer for anyone who carries an 856.

Revolvers

  • 856 - The 38 Special snub concealed carriers keep coming back to, in 2 in and 3 in: the standard 856, the 856VL with Viridian laser grip, the concealed-hammer 856CH, the 856 T.O.R.O., the 856 Gentleman, and the hand-finished 856 Executive Grade.
  • 605 - The same small frame in 357 Magnum, 2 in or 3 in, including a polymer-frame version, the 605 T.O.R.O., and the 605 Gentleman. The concealed-hammer 650 and 850 fill the same pocket.
  • Judge - The most famous Taurus of all, firing 45 Colt and 410 bore from the same cylinder: the 3 in and 6.5 in Judge, the Judge Magnum, the Judge Public Defender, the Judge Executive, the optics-ready Judge Magnum T.O.R.O., the long-barreled Judge Home Defender, and the larger-frame Raging Judge 513.
  • Raging Hunter - The ported, rail-topped hunting revolver that took Handgun of the Year honors, in 357 Magnum, 44 Magnum, 454 Casull, 460 S&W, 500 S&W, and 350 Legend, with barrels from 5.12 in to 14 in. The Raging Bull is the original big-bore, in 44 Magnum and 454 Casull.
  • 66, 692, 608, and 627 Tracker - Medium-frame 357 Magnums for the range or the deer stand. The 692 swaps cylinders to run 357 Magnum, 38 Special, or 9mm.
  • Deputy - A single-action 357 Magnum with a 4.75 in or 5.5 in barrel, for anyone who just likes cocking a hammer.
  • We also stock the 905 snub in 9mm, the ported 44 and 44 Tracker, the 327, the 65 and 82, and the 817.
