Savage Arms: Get-It-Done Rifles Since 1894
Arthur Savage patented a repeating rifle in 1891 and put his name on a company in Utica, New York, three years later. An early hammerless lever gun carried that name for most of a century; the Model 110 bolt action, still built in Westfield, Massachusetts, has carried it since the late 1950s. Savage says it has pushed the boundaries of innovation since 1894, and for once the tagline is plain fact: a user-adjustable AccuTrigger on a factory rifle in 2002, when that was still gunsmith work; AccuStock in 2009; AccuFit in 2018; and for 2026 a smoother 110 action under the AccuFit V2 stock.
Why do shooters pick one? Because a Savage is, in the company's own words, stripped of pretense and gimmickry. The barrel nut that lets Westfield set headspace precisely also lets a gunsmith swap a barrel on a bench. The floating bolt head squares the lugs to the bore. None of it is flashy. All of it is why a plain working rifle prints groups that embarrass rifles from fancier addresses. Westfield builds a great many rifles every year, and a good share go to people coming back for another.

Centerfire bolt actions
- Model 110. The backbone of Savage: Apex Hunter XP, Apex Predator XP and Apex Storm XP scoped packages, Trail Hunter, Trail Blazer, High Country, Hog Hunter, Ridge Hunter and Varmint trims, plus the Core Hunter, Core Predator and Core Tactical from the 2026 refresh.
- 110 Precision, Elite Precision and Tactical. Chassis and heavy-barrel 110s for the bench and the long-range line, in 6.5 Creedmoor, 6mm Creedmoor, 308 Winchester, 300 PRC and 338 Lapua.
- 110 Ultralite Pro, Carbon Predator and Carbon Hunter. Carbon-wrapped barrels for the mountain hunter who counts ounces on the way up.
- 110 Magpul Scout. A 16.5 in barreled 308 in a Magpul stock with a forward rail. The truck gun of the family.
- Axis, Axis XP and Axis II. A lot of people's first centerfire rifle, and the one reviewers keep calling the value leader. Axis II adds the AccuTrigger, XP means a scope comes mounted, Pro and Hardwood dress it up, and the Axis II Precision moves the action into an aluminum chassis. Left-hand and compact versions included.
- Impulse Predator and 110 Impulse KLYM. Savage's straight-pull bolt. Pull, push, stay on the glass; it cycles as fast as your hand moves. The KLYM adds a carbon-fiber stock.
Rimfire rifles
- Rascal. The single-shot bolt action Savage built for a first rifle: short stock, cocks by lifting the bolt, AccuTrigger, colors from black to pink. FV-SR, Target XP and Minimalist versions grow with the shooter.
- Mark II. The bolt-action 22 LR a lot of people learned tight groups on: FV heavy barrel, FV-SR threaded, FVT with target sights, G hardwood, FXP scoped, and now the 21 Sharp chambering.
- 93 and 93R17. The Mark II's bigger siblings in 22 WMR and 17 HMR, in blued, stainless, laminate, heavy-barrel and Minimal trims.
- B22, B17 and B.Mag. The B Series bolt rimfires in 22 LR, 22 WMR, 17 HMR and 17 Winchester Super Magnum. The B17 Precision puts the action in a chassis, the Timber Tactical dresses it in laminate, plus a 21 Sharp version.
- A22, A22 Takedown and A17. Savage's semi-auto rimfires. The A17 was built around 17 HMR with a delayed-blowback action; the A22 does the same in 22 LR and 22 WMR, and the Takedown splits in two for the pack.
- 64F, 64 FV-SR and 64 Precision. The plain, honest semi-auto 22 from countless first-rifle stories, in a chassis with a threaded barrel as the 64 Precision, or in purple and green as the 64F.
- RXR22. A semi-auto 22 LR with modern lines, in gray or FDE furniture.
- Revel. Savage's return to the lever gun, in 22 LR and 22 WMR, Classic and DLX. Reviewers at American Rifleman and Guns & Ammo came away impressed, and we would not argue.
