Ruger: Rugged, Reliable and Built in America Since 1949
Bill Ruger and Alex Sturm started the company in 1949 in a rented Connecticut machine shop with one product, a .22 pistol that turned a profit in its first year. Today Ruger is one of the nation's leading firearms manufacturers, building in Newport, New Hampshire; Prescott, Arizona; and Mayodan, North Carolina. The motto on the box is Arms Makers for Responsible Citizens, and the engineering philosophy has not drifted: honest materials, parts thicker than they strictly need to be, and proof that affordable and well-made are not opposites.
Shooters pick Ruger for that overbuilt quality: investment-cast frames, heavy cylinders, rifles you can drag through a whole season. Rarely the lightest or prettiest option on the wall, and owners like it that way.

Semi-auto handguns
- LCP MAX and LCP II - the LCP MAX is the current version of the pocket .380 that put Ruger into the carry market, now with usable sights and a grip you can hold; the LCP II is stocked in .22 LR for practice.
- MAX-9 - a micro-compact 9mm with an optics-ready slide, for LCP-size carry in 9mm.
- Security-9 and Security-380 - hammer-fired home-defense pistols with a light, clean trigger; the Security-380's slide is easy to rack.
- RXM - Ruger's newest striker-fired 9mm, co-designed with Magpul: removable fire-control insert, Magpul grip frame, optics-ready slide, tritium front sight, 4 in or 4.5 in barrel.
- Ruger-57 and LC Charger - the 5.7x28mm pistols, flat-shooting and soft-recoiling; the LC Charger stretches the idea to a 10.3 in barrel.
- Mark IV - descendant of that first 1949 pistol, in Standard, Target, Hunter, Competition, Tactical and 22/45 versions, all with the one-button takedown that made cleaning a Ruger .22 painless.
- SR1911 - an American-made 1911 in .45 ACP, 9mm and 10mm, Government and Commander lengths, plus a Target version with adjustable sights.
Revolvers
- LCR and LCRx - the modern carry revolver: a cam-driven trigger that does not stack, chamberings from .22 LR to .357 Magnum. The LCRx adds an exposed hammer and a 3 in barrel option.
- SP101 and GP100 - the double-action .357s Ruger built its revolver reputation on: SP101 for carry, GP100 for the nightstand, woods and range. Match versions of both, plus GP100s in 10mm.
- Redhawk, Super Redhawk and Super Redhawk Alaskan - big-bore double actions in .44 Magnum, .454 Casull and .480 Ruger. The 2.5 in Alaskan is the bear-country backup; the 7.5 in and 9.5 in Super Redhawks are for hunting.
- Blackhawk and Super Blackhawk - the single-action that made Ruger's name in 1955, in .357 Magnum, .45 Colt and .44 Magnum, including Convertible models with a second cylinder in 9mm or .45 ACP.
- Vaquero - the fixed-sight single-action for cowboy action and anyone who likes the look, blued or stainless, with SASS editions.
- Single-Six, Wrangler and Super Wrangler - the rimfire single-actions: the Single-Six Convertible is the heirloom, the Wrangler is the one you hand a new shooter, and the Super Wrangler adds adjustable sights and a .22 WMR cylinder.

- 10/22 - the rimfire rifle, full stop, in production since 1964 with a huge aftermarket of stocks, barrels and triggers. Standard, Sporter and Magpul-stocked versions.
- Ruger American - the affordable bolt-action that has put a lot of hunters behind a rifle that shoots better than they do. Standard, Compact, Ranch and Generation II models, from .204 Ruger to 7mm PRC and .450 Bushmaster.
- American Rimfire - the same bolt-action logic scaled to .22 LR, .22 WMR and .17 HMR, in Standard, Compact and Target versions.
- Precision Rifle and Precision Rimfire - Ruger's chassis rifles for long-range work: the centerfire in 6.5 Creedmoor, .300 Win Mag, .300 PRC and .338 Lapua, the rimfire as the matching trainer.
- Hawkeye and Guide Gun - the M77 lineage, controlled-feed hunting rifles with a Mauser-style claw extractor: Hawkeye Hunter, Alaskan and African, and the Guide Gun in .375 Ruger, .338 Win Mag and .30-06 for big animals up close.
- Mini-14 and Mini Thirty - the ranch rifle since 1973, an M14-style action in .223/5.56, .300 Blackout or 7.62x39, in Ranch and Tactical trim.
- PC Carbine and PC Charger - a takedown 9mm carbine that breaks in half for the trunk, in standard and Magpul Backpacker versions, and the 6.5 in pistol built on the same action.
