FN America

FN America: What 135-Plus Years Teaches You

Some brands tell you a story. FN just has one. Fabrique Nationale was founded in Herstal, Belgium in 1889, spent thirty years building John Moses Browning's designs with the man himself at the bench, and has been arming soldiers and police on both sides of the Atlantic ever since. FN America is the U.S. side of that company. Its plant in Columbia, South Carolina opened in 1981 to build machine guns for the U.S. Army and has been turning out military and law enforcement small arms for more than forty years.

FN's own line is that everything it has learned in 135-plus years goes into every FN. Handle enough of them across a counter and you stop rolling your eyes at that. The guns are overbuilt in the ways that matter: cold-hammer-forged and chrome-lined barrels, true ambidextrous controls, and an optics-mounting system reviewers keep calling the best in the business. FN put the 509 platform through more than a million rounds of reliability, ammunition-compatibility and durability testing, and the LAPD ran it through a 20,000-round endurance test of its own before choosing it as a duty pistol. That is the kind of proof we like to hear.

Urban Tactical Firearms stocks FN America across full-size and carry handguns, AR rifles, and large-format pistols. Here is the lineup.

FN Handguns We Stock

FN Reflex and Reflex XL

FN's micro-compact 9mm, and the one that changes minds about small pistols. The Reflex runs an internal hammer instead of a striker, which means a lighter, crisper trigger and a slide that is noticeably easier to rack than most guns its size. The original carries a 3.3 in barrel; the Reflex XL stretches to 3.8 in with a longer grip for shooters who want more to hold. Both come in standard and MRD optics-ready versions.

FN 509 Series

FN's striker-fired 9mm duty pistol and the backbone of the lineup. We stock the full-size 509 Tactical with its threaded barrel and suppressor-height sights, the 509 Compact Tactical, the 509M Tactical, the 509 Midsize MRD, and the 509 in its standard configuration. If you want one FN to do everything, start here.

FN 510 and FN 545

The 509 platform scaled up for 10mm (FN 510) and 45 ACP (FN 545). We carry the Tactical versions with threaded 4.71 in barrels, the MRD optics-ready models, and the 510 MRD Comp with an integral compensator that takes the edge off 10mm.

FN High Power

The name goes back to 1935 and Browning's final design, but the current High Power is a ground-up modern pistol: single-action, hammer-fired, steel-framed, fully ambidextrous, and made in the USA. This is the FN for shooters who care how a gun feels in the hand as much as what it does on paper.

FN Five-seveN and Five-seveN MRD

Nothing else feels like it. The Five-seveN fires the flat-shooting 5.7x28mm cartridge FN developed, weighs remarkably little for a full-size pistol, and recoils like a rimfire. The MRD version adds the optics-ready slide.

FN 502 Tactical and 502 MRD

A 22 LR built to mirror the 509 Tactical: threaded barrel, suppressor-height sights, optics-ready slide, same controls in the same places. Train with the 502, carry the 509, and your hands will not know the difference.

FN 309

New for 2026 and built for everyday personal defense: a hammer-fired, optics-ready 9mm with a 3.8 in barrel, an easy-racking slide, and a light, clean trigger. A natural first FN.

FNX-45 Tactical

The double-action/single-action 45 with the threaded barrel and tall sights. Hammer-fired, with an ambidextrous safety and decocker, for shooters who want a traditional trigger on a modern polymer frame.

FN Rifles and Large-Format Pistols

FN 15 TAC3 and TAC3 Duty

FN's current AR-15, built the way FN builds things: cold-hammer-forged, chrome-lined 16 in barrel, mid-length gas, free-floated handguard, ambidextrous charging handle and selector. The TAC3 Duty swaps in a 15 in M-LOK handguard with five integrated QD sling points.

FN 15 M4 and FN 15 M16

Semi-automatic versions of the carbines and rifles FN produces under contract for the U.S. military. The M16 keeps the classic 20 in barrel.

FN SCAR 15P

The SCAR in its smallest form: a 7.5 in barrel large-format pistol in 5.56 NATO or 300 Blackout, with the short-stroke gas piston the SCAR family is known for. Soft-shooting for its size and unmistakably an FN.
