CZ: Engineered in Uherský Brod, Proven on the Podium
Česká zbrojovka has been building firearms in Uherský Brod, in the Czech Republic, since 1936. Most American shooters met the brand through one pistol: the CZ 75, František Koucký's 1975 design that ran the slide inside the frame rails and became one of the original Wonder Nines. Half a century later it is still in production and still the pistol other DA/SA nines get measured against.
What keeps shooters coming back is not nostalgia. CZ's own line is “We don't follow. We lead,” and the catalog backs it up: a competition pistol that owns IPSC Production, a striker-fired gun that wins on ergonomics, a rimfire that swaps barrels with two screws, and a centerfire bolt gun sold with a sub-MOA promise. CZ calls the design philosophy Instinctive Fit. In practice it is simpler: pick one up and your hand already knows where everything is.
Since 2021 CZ and Colt have shared a parent in Colt CZ Group. CZ-USA has run the American side from Kansas City since 1998, and the engineering still comes out of Uherský Brod.
The CZ Models We Stock
Pistols
- Shadow 2: the full-size steel competition pistol CZ built to win IPSC Production. Low bore axis, a trigger that gets better the more you shoot it, and optics-ready versions.
- Shadow 2 Compact: the same DA/SA feel on an alloy frame with a 4 in barrel. Competition manners in a gun you can actually carry.
- P-10 C: CZ's striker-fired compact with a 4 in barrel, and by CZ's own count the most popular model in the P-10 family. The grip and trigger are why people who swear they do not like striker guns end up buying one. Standard, optics-ready and ported versions.
- P-10 F and P-10 S: the same platform stretched to full size for duty and competition, including a Competition-Ready version and a 45 ACP, or trimmed to a 3.5 in barrel for a smaller carry gun.
- CZ 75 B, 75 BD and 75 Compact: the original. All steel, hammer-fired DA/SA, slide riding inside the frame. Start here.
- P-01 and 75D PCR: alloy-frame compacts on the 75 pattern with 3.75 in barrels, designed for police duty and carried by plenty of civilians. Lighter than the 75 B, same trigger.
- SP-01 and SP-01 Tactical: the full-size 75 with a rail and extended dust cover, a home-defense favorite and a common first step into Production division. We also carry the 50th Anniversary edition.
- 75 Tactical Sport Orange: CZ's single-action race gun with a 5.2 in barrel, in 9mm and 40 S&W. Built for Standard and Limited division; nothing on it is meant for a holster under a shirt.
- P-09 series: polymer-frame, hammer-fired DA/SA in compact and full size, including the optics-ready P-09 F Nocturne. For people who want a hammer on a modern polymer gun.
- BREN 2 pistols: the pistol version of CZ's military rifle, in 5.56 NATO and 7.62x39. Short-stroke gas piston in a package that fits a backpack.
Rifles
- 457: the rimfire bolt gun other rimfires get compared to. Adjustable trigger, 60-degree bolt throw, and barrels you can swap yourself between 22 LR, 22 WMR and 17 HMR. All three chamberings, 16 in to 24.8 in barrels.
- 600 Plus: CZ's current centerfire hunting rifle. Sixty-degree bolt, adjustable trigger, a barrel swap that takes two screws and a few minutes, and a three-shot sub-MOA promise at 100 yards. Chamberings run from 223 Rem and 7.62x39 up to 300 Win Mag, in Alpha synthetic or American Walnut stocks.
- 600 Range, 600 Trail and 600 ST2/ST3 American: Range is the precision-oriented 308 Win, Trail is the short 16.2 in 223 Rem for truck and brush, and the American is the classic walnut-stocked hunting rifle.
Shotguns
- Redhead Premier: CZ's do-everything over-and-under in 12 and 20 gauge, plus the 30 in Target version for clays.
- Wingshooter Elite and Drake: the Wingshooter Elite is the dressed-up upland gun in 12 and 20 gauge; the Drake is the plain-spoken entry into over-and-unders, in 20 gauge.
- Quail: a compact 20 gauge over-and-under sized for youth and smaller-framed shooters.
- 712 G3 and 1012/1020 G2: CZ's semi-autos. The 712 G3 is a gas-operated 12 gauge; the 1012 G2 (12 gauge) and 1020 G2 (20 gauge) are inertia-driven, so there is no gas system to clean.
