Canik Pistols at Urban Tactical Firearms
Canik started small. Samsun Yurt Savunma, on Turkey's Black Sea coast, was turning out a few dozen pistols a month when the brand launched in the mid-2000s. Today the same factory builds roughly one pistol a minute and ranks among the largest 9mm makers on the planet. The TP9 reached American shooters around 2009, Century Arms came on as the U.S. partner soon after, and a name most people could not pronounce became one they kept recommending at the range. That word of mouth is the whole Canik story: the guns shot better than they had any right to, and they still do.
The formula has not changed much since. Every Canik we stock is a striker-fired 9mm with a trigger that draws comparisons to pistols costing far more, ambidextrous slide releases on nearly every model, and a box that always seems to have more in it than you expected: a holster, spare magazines, backstraps, and a hard case are typical, not upgrades. Canik calls its guns Superior Firearms and talks about bold style meeting serious performance. That is marketing, but the people who own one tend to nod along.

Carry: the METE MC9 family
- METE MC9 - Canik's micro-compact 9mm with a 3.18 in barrel, an optics-ready slide, and a flat-faced trigger reviewers keep singling out. When someone says "the Canik carry gun," this is the one they mean.
- METE MC9L and MC9LS - The MC9 with a longer grip for a full-hand hold. The MC9L keeps the 3.18 in barrel; the MC9LS stretches to 3.64 in for a longer sight radius and a little more slide to grab.
- METE MC9 Prime - The premium MC9 and the first Canik built in the United States. Ported 3.64 in barrel, Night Fision tritium sights, and an upgraded trigger. Offered compensated or non-compensated, with or without a factory-mounted MO1 optic.
- METE MC9 Prime Radian - New for 2026, a factory collaboration with Radian Weapons: Ramjet barrel, Afterburner compensator, and a Radian magwell and backstrap, all on the Prime chassis.
- TP9 Elite SC - The original Canik subcompact with a 3.6 in barrel, still the pick for shooters who want a bit more grip than a micro gives them. We also stock the Elite SC Combat variant.
Duty and range: the full-size line
- TP9SF and TP9SF Elite - The pistols that built Canik's reputation here. The TP9SF is the full-size workhorse; the SF Elite trims the grip and brings the barrel to 4.19 in for a mid-size that fits more hands.
- METE SF - The current-generation full-size with a 4.19 in barrel, optics-ready slide, and accessory rail. A do-everything home-defense and range pistol.
- METE SFT - The balanced full-size at 4.46 in with a full grip and optics-ready slide. If you only own one Canik, this is a strong argument for which one.
- METE SFx and SFx Pro - The long-slide METE at 5.2 in and, in Pro form, 5.74 in with a tritium front sight and the upgraded trigger. Built for training days and match weekends.
- TP9SFx - Canik's original long-slide competition pistol, 5.2 in barrel, in Tungsten grey. Still a lot of gun.
Competition and collaborations
- SFx Rival - Took Pistol of the Year honors in 2022. A 5 in polymer-frame race gun with a fiber-optic front sight, ported slide, flared magwell, and one of the best factory triggers you will find on a production pistol.
- SFx Rival-S - The Rival on a steel frame. The extra weight settles the gun and flattens follow-up shots. Bright Chrome or Darkside black, with rosewood grip options.
